Our Developments

Family Homes

New family homes are a priority for the North River Alliance. Our current programme for 2011/15 includes over 180 new homes with three or more bedrooms: some 43% of the total.

We are constantly looking for innovative ways to meet the needs of overcrowded families. For example: as part of its estate regeneration work, THCH has a programme to convert disused pram stores into new homes. Where practicable we have extended existing ground floor flats into the stores to create large family accommodation.

Regeneration

The NRA will promote development and other activities in regeneration areas.

Many of our projects are not simply about housing but also about providing new community facilities.

THCH has led the regeneration of several ex-local authority estates in Tower Hamlets totalling over 2,500 homes.

NRA members also own a number of Community Centres and rooms.  Our community facilities are provided to enable individuals and groups to engage in social recreational and sporting activities which will enhance and enrich their lives.

New Build

Our development pipeline includes both new build and refurbishment schemes and we have a great deal of experience in developing difficult infill sites in inner city areas and have built new housing and community facilities on our existing estates. Much of our programme is ‘design and build’ or traditional development. We also have a good track record of working with developers to deliver their S.106 obligations.

ISHA, Gateway and THCH have many years experience of developing homes for New Build Homebuy (shared ownership) and THCH has experience of developing homes for outright sale.

Supported Housing

We have an active supported housing and sheltered housing programme. Our supported housing schemes include Women Refuge Projects, housing for people with learning difficulties and mental health problems, and housing for people who have had a history of rough sleeping Many of these projects are run in partnership with other agencies who provide additional care and support.

Providence Row Housing Association has received £1.74 million funding in 2011/15 for the Homelessness Change Programme.
